RE: Something else to watch at the pump

While filling up a few weeks ago, the pump stopped at exactly $100.00. I was ecstatic, believing that I must have gotten great mileage towing the new fiver! :B Even mentioned to DW what a coincidence it was that the truck took that exact amount! :h Then realized what happened :S Finished the last $20 of the fill with a sheepish grin on my face! :E

RE: Good Sam Club ERS Auto Renewal w/o Noticel!!!

Mine just auto renewed within the last 2 weeks, but I did receive notice several weeks ago; a postcard indicating that it would be renewed in 30 days unless I contacted them with alternate plans. Not sure whether I checked any boxes regarding renewal, most likely I would have requested notice. At any rate, I believe you can cancel at any time and, under the circumstances, you would probably get your money back if you asked. Good luck!

RE: Awning Cleaning

I use Mr.Clean Magic Eraser (the little white sponge) on the awning and it works terrific; just with water.
This is what we use as well. It's really amazing how well these little sponges work on an awning with very little elbow grease!
Word of warning: DO NOT USE THEM on the side of your RV, it will take the finish right off.
The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser also works great in the shower!
Good tip, Cruzette, but isn't it a little tough on your skin? :B :W

RE: Questions about Weber Q 100

Not sure about the ignition issue...ours works as intended although it often takes a couple of pushes to light the flame.
Yes, the "cigarette lighter" size flame on the burner tube is how the unit is designed and is normal.
My experience also. While the B-Q does a good job in the wind, I sometimes have to use a lighter to light. If anything disturbs the gas flow at the spark location, it will not always light immediately.
yes, agree with all of these points. My experiences, too. Q's are great grills, though.

RE: 2007 Cherokee 25 DD

Cherokees are made by Forest River. We had the one in my sig until trading just recently. We loved it. Well made, attractive, no problems whatsoever. Only complaint was the small bathroom, but that goes with the floorplan. Check out the Forest River website for all you need to know. IMO, you would do well with one of these units, if it is to your liking otherwise. Good luck!

RE: Wild weather: what would you do?

wow, a very responsible group! Glad to see everyone (at least those who responded) would seek shelter. Only makes sense to me. What I was surprised to see, however, was the number of people who did actually "ride it out", in everything from class A's to pop ups, even during the initial warning period. Thankfully no high winds developed, at least in our area, and I didn't see any major damage in the morning. It was an interesting weekend! Thanks for responding!

RE: pulling with ford f-150

I pulled about 6100# with an '02 150 FX4 and same gears. It pulled the trailer on flat land ok, but the smallest hill would cause it to shift. I didn't like the way it towed. Also need to consider wheelbase, as a short bed truck with that length of trailer may result in the tail wagging the dog.

Wild weather: what would you do?

While camping at Holland State Park in Michigan over the weekend, some severe weather moved in from over Lake Michigan. Local news indicated water spouts and tornados possible, and anyone not in a "sturdy structure, mobile homes, or campers" should seek sturdier shelter. Warning was to expire in an hour or so. DW and I (ok, mostly I) decided to move inland a little, and complete some shopping. While in the store, torrential downpour began. Driving back to the park was interesting, as roads began to flood. Result was 5-6 inches of rain overnight, and almost constant lightning from around 9 pm until sometime in the early morning hours. I pulled in the slides and we turtled for the night, which was not too restful. My question, when severe weather warnings are posted while you're camping, do you seek alternate structure or ride it out?

RE: RV.Net Decals

Print them on photo paper, then attach with the clear contact paper. I finally found a use for a gizmo DW bought for scrapbooking that cuts everything out in a perfect circle!

RE: Dishnetwork trying to give me new receivers

Probably want to give you the new equipment so that they can better monitor your television viewing habits through new technology, but then I'm fairly suspicious by nature.

RE: Battery Disconnect Switch On or Off when plugged in

My understanding, and what the dealer told me, is that it must be open, or on, for the battery to either supply or receive power. The switch basically "disconnects" the battery without physically disconnecting the battery. Pretty clever to call it a battery disconnect, huh? In other words, open the circuit.

RE: Who has had their Dometic Fridge recall done?

We had ours done last week, and just took our trailer back in last night because now the fridge is not working on Electric (it was working when we took it in for the recall fix) and we leave in a week for our Idaho trip. So frustrating
Same thing happened to a buddy of mine, no elec after the fix. Tech forgot to plug it back in! How's your luck running; could that be it?

RE: Who has had their Dometic Fridge recall done?

IMO, best to get it done. As noted, it is a quick fix and, in the event you have any problems, you don't want it to be on you because you didn't have it done!

RE: Hearst Castle w/ Small Kids

Haven't toured with kids in tow, but I do know there is lots of walking, stairs, etc., depending on which tour you take. Also lots of things that cannot/should not be touched. How does your little one do in a museum or similar places? Really a fascinating place.

I would bring the hose in each night if you're connected to the water. Either that or inulate it with some pipe insulator.

Front cap decals revisited

I got a good tip here on this site that has worked so far for me. I took automotive pinstripe and outlined the cap decal (there are several colors and widths to choose from). So far so good. And this summer in Arizona has been extremely hot...no curling since adding the pinstripe. Actually looks a little better than stock too.
The above is a post from several months ago. Has anyone tried this method to fix slightly peeling decals? If so, how did it work for you? I've got a complex decal that I would like to save, as it's just peeling a little right now. Any other methods anyone would recommend? Thanks!

RE: Ultra Light Trailers

We've been very happy with our Cherokee Lite 28A. Well constructed, good floorplan for us. Stated dry weight is 5340#. If some of you are smaller (i.e. kids), the bunks would work well. Too difficult to get in and out of for an adult, although it can be done, and I'm proof.
EDIT: Manufacturer is Forest River.
